Sponsorship & Underwriting
One of the most direct ways to enable us to entertain you is to help underwrite a specific performance or event that you are particularly excited to see. You are then helping to make it happen! Rarely do the box office proceeds for an event cover the full costs, which include artist fees, and promotion and production costs.
We have a plethora of performance sponsorship opportunities for our 2012 season: On Stage Sponsor, NEW Black Box Sponsor, NEW Premier Media Sponsor, and NEW On Screen Media Sponsor. Please read below for more information on programs in need of sponsorship here at Orcas Center. We welcome your interest and appreciate your support!
On Stage Sponsor
These performances take place on our Center Stage, with a 213 audience capacity. For 2012, we are seeking sponsor support at the following levels: $250, $500, $1,000, and $2500+ Sole Sponsor. Businesses, individuals, and families interested in sponsoring one of Orcas Center’s On Stage events will be featured as On Stage Sponsor in the Playbill program insert for whichever program(s) you support. If you are passionate about a particular performance or simply desire to spotlight your business at a particular time within our 2012 season, consider this opportunity to shine as an Orcas Center On Stage Sponsor.
2012 Performances Seeking Sponsorship:
- The Lower Tavern team will be on hand here at Orcas Center for a Burgers + Brew making their delicious burgers and pouring their tasty brews before the show.
- www.goodlovelies.com The Good Lovelies are not your run–of–the mill "all girl" band. Winners of the 2010 Juno Award for Roots Album of the Year and the New Emerging Artist Award at the Canadian Folk Music Awards – the aptly named Good Lovelies are Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore, all of them best friends and refugees from solo careers. Part folk roots, part Western Swing, the Toronto based trio relies on unerring three part vocal harmonies, clever songs, and convulsively funny repartee on stage.
- Ten choreographers. Two towns. One very small stage. 10 Tiny Dances brings ten different choreographers to create short dances to be performed on a 4’ by 4’ platform. A simple experiment with infinite results! This special Orcas edition of 10 Tiny Dances will feature seven choreographers from Seattle and three from Orcas. 10 Tiny Dances was founded in Portland by Mike Barber and is produced in Seattle by Spaeth Projects.
July 14th Roy Rogers & the Delta Rhythm Kings *new addition to the season
- www.roy-rogers.com Roy Rogers & the Delta Rhythm Kings make their first appearance at Orcas Center this summer. Rogers is one of the premier slide guitarists performing today – well known for his exciting live performances with his band and John Lee Hooker’s Coast to Coast
Blues Band. Rogers has performed at numerous music festivals throughout the world including Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), Notodden Blues Festival (Norway) and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (US). Rogers’ ability to electrify and move audiences to their feet is legendary.
- www.stevealboucq.com/orcashorns Orcas Horns are not another cover band. They bring a fresh approach to classic R&B, Jazz and Afro-Cuban hits as well as create their own original music. Orcas Horns are local annual favorites at Orcas Center and this year their fans can look forward to an even bigger and more entertaining show. Plus, be prepared for some collaborative magic with their local talented friends.
October 27th Nanda – The Jacket
- www.nandatown.com The four outstanding performers of Nanda from Port Townsend bring The Jacket to Orcas – a highly acclaimed live action show that combines comedy, juggling, acrobatics, martial arts, video, music, dance, and pop-culture references for a knock out performance. The Jacket is an adult oriented, yet family-friendly evening of entertainment your whole family will enjoy.
