
Orcas Conservatory is an ongoing series of performing arts classes, providing high-quality training and experiences to children and adults in dance (ballet, tap, jazz, flamenco, ballroom), acting, directing, playwriting, and production.

ANTHONY MANUEL, dancer and choreographer
Thursdays, January 8 – April 30
Body Music
6–7 pm
An exploration of using the body to create rhythms.
Tuition is $170 for the series.
African Modern
7–8 pm
Using African dance merged with an infusion of contemporary modern choreography.
Tuition is $170 for the series.
Fridays, January 9 – May 1
Hip Hop for Ages 12+
3:30–4:30 pm
Fast paced contemporary dance that tweens and teens enjoy moving to.
Tuition is $170* for the series.
World Dance for Adults
6–7 pm
Lyrical, modern dance that combines a combination of dance techniques.
Tuition is $170* for the series.
Project Dance for Ages 13+
Saturdays, January 10 – April 25

Hip Hop meets modern dance.

Beginning Modern Dance
"Beginning Modern Dance for the Rusty, the Sedentary and the Curious"
Wednesdays, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm • OffCenter
May 6 to July 22 (11 weeks)
Tuition will be $110* for the series.
Hannah's class for the rusty, the sedentary and the curious - a gentle paced introduction to the foundations of modern dance aimed at learning and strengthening the basics and exploring the integrity of joy of movement.
Intermediate Modern Dance
Wednesdays, 6:45 pm to 8:15 pm • OffCenter
April 22 to June 24
Tuition will be $130* for the series, or $10 per class.
Acting Workshop with Book-It's JANE JONES
Monday-Wednesday, May 4-6, 6-9 pm.
Participate in this acting workshop with one of Seattle's foremost theatre artists, Jane Jones, who will direct Great Expectations at Orcas Center in the fall.
Open to teens and adults. Tuition $120*
DIANE TRAPP— Master mask maker
Co-produced with the Olga Strawberry Council - two mask making workshops
with renowned mask maker, Diane Trapp.
One 4-day workshop, June 13 - 16, 9 am to 4:30 pm. This workshop incorporates making masks from your own facial contours Tuition - $180.00*, materials included. Limited to 10 participants.
One 3-day workshop, June 17 - 19, 9 am to 4:30 pm
This workshop will use wooden heads as mask forms.
Tuition - $140*, materials included. Limited to 10 participants
Both workshops are held at Orcas Center scene shop.

Maskmaking and Storytelling with Masks
Ages 6 and older including teens, with July 3 performance.
Tuition $200*.
